A fork of Luca Malinverno’s project, adapted and hosted for the 12 August 2026 eclipse, with Piedmont terrain data stored locally.
The problem
Host the project on my server so friends could use it from their phones, reducing dependence on network access for Piedmont terrain data.
My contribution
The original calculation is Luca Malinverno’s work. I adapted the Docker deployment, preloaded Piedmont DEM data and added response caching, concurrency controls and a more mobile-friendly interface.
Available evidence
The changes for deployment on my server are documented in ADR-002 in the repository.
Usage and limits
The demo was shut down after the eclipse. The repository remains available to inspect or build on.
